Pramath Sinha is an expert in several areas of higher education administration and leadership, building a world-class learning institution, transforming the higher education sector (investment and innovation), innovative trends in higher education (technology, infrastructure, teaching methods), and the future of the higher education sector in India.

Pramath is currently Managing Director of 9.9 Mediaworx Pvt. Ltd., a company he found in 2007. 9.9 Media is a research-led, diversified media company with a portfolio of businesses spanning both traditional and new media such as print, online, research, conferences and events. Pramath spent most of his professional career as a Partner with McKinsey & Company, Inc., the international management consulting firm. His rich experience over the years – across academia, consulting, education and business – has given him a rare insight into the running of organisations and different operating environments. He is the Founder and Editor of EDU, 9.9 Media’s magazine for leaders in higher education and the only Indian magazine in its genre.

Pramath is the Founding Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB), an initiative led by McKinsey and a group of leading Indian business leaders, in partnership with Kellogg and Wharton, to establish a world-class business school in India. The ISB is today regarded as one of India’s leading B-schools and was ranked 12th in the latest Financial Times ranking of global business schools. He has been associated with the project right from its inception and continues to be actively involved in the school as a member of its Board of Directors. He is now leading a group of India’s leading business and academic leaders to create a world-class university in India. Ashoka University will launch next year with the Young India Fellowship, a unique 1-year fully funded programme for gifted Indian graduates, in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is also the current Dean of the 9.9 School of Convergence – launched by 9.9 Media, it aims to become a globally acclaimed school for journalism, media and communication studies. Pramath is also supporting two other efforts to build a high-quality university and a regional business school in India.

Pramath helped build world-class educational institutions in India when most believed it was not possible. His accomplishment is testimony to his rare equal strengths of vision and execution. His experiences are a source of inspiration and guidance to many aspirants in India’s education sector.

There are currently only a handful of premier institutions in India that are globally acclaimed and can therefore be truly considered world-class. Pramath, by virtue of his experience with the inception and launch of the Indian School of Business (ISB is today considered to be one of India’s finest institutions for higher education), is uniquely qualified to provide insights on what it takes to be acknowledged as a world leader in the field of education. He blends his passion and commitment to the cause of building great centres of learning with a practical approach to create a session that inspires and creates value.
