She is also concurrently Regional Director India, The Conference Board, New York, and has been heading their India operations for over a decade. She is also Representative for the Board's high successful top-management forum on Human Resources Council-India, and the Board's Council on Corporate Governance & Risk Management (India). The Conference Board is the world's leading business knowledge network on best business practices, with over 2,500 associate members worldwide in over 65 countries. Since 1916, it has a mandate for serving business and society, and help businesses strengthen their performance through senior executive councils, conferences, economic forecasts, and authoritative management research.

Ms Barua is the founder of Forum for Women in Leadership WILL Forum -- that is committed to bringing together senior women executives from leading companies in corporate India and multinationals for leveraging the talent-pool of Women executives and redefining best-employers for women in leadership positions.

Ms. Barua is a trained economist with a Masters Degree from the Delhi School of Economics, and has spent over a decade as Chief Program Specialist with the United States Information Services in New Delhi. During her free time, she presents Guest Lectures on Business Policy at the University of Maribor(Slovenia), and is a Visiting Fellow at the Salzburg Seminar, Australia.

Awards
Ms. Barua has been awarded the Ford Fellowship by the Paul H Nitze School of Advance International Studies (SAIS), Johns Hopkins University, for her work on conflict resolution and promoting business cooperation in South Asia.

Boards and Memberships
Ms. Barua presently serves as in Independent Director on the Board of Walchand PeopleFirst Ltd., and is on the governing board of the Institute of Learning and Management (IILM).
