Adviser to the German government on economic policy

Beatrice Weder di Mauro is a Professor of Economics at the University of Mainz and is a member of the German Council of Economic Experts.

As a result of her work at some of the world's leading institutions, she is recognised as a global authority on economic policy.

In June 2004 she was appointed a member of the German Council of Economic Experts which advises the German government on economic policy and economic development. She is the first woman and the first non-German to hold this…

Previously she worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank in Washington, and the OECD Development Centre.

From 2002-2004 she was a member of the Board of Macroeconomic Advisors of the Swiss Federation, advising the Swiss government on economic policy.

- Centre for Financial Studies, Frankfurt.

She is an affiliate at Centre For Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London. She speaks English, German, Spanish and Italian.
