Father of Lan Kwai Fong

Allan Zeman has lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years and is very involved in the local community.  Allan was the chairman and founder of the Colby International Group ("Colby"). Allan founded Colby in 1975 to source and export apparel to Canada. Under Allan's leadership, Colby was one of the first supply chain management companies to source apparel from the PRC and to open offices in Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines. Allan Zeman has lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years and is very involved in the local community.  Allan was the chairman and founder of the Colby International Group ("Colby"). Allan founded Colby in 1975 to source and export apparel to Canada. Under Allan's leadership, Colby was one of the first supply chain management companies to source apparel from the PRC and to open offices in Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines. In the 1980's Colby expanded its customer base to the United States and opened additional offshore offices to service its growing customer base. 

In late 2000, Colby was sold to Li & Fung Limited, a Hong Kong listed company who is Colby's major competitor. The merged company will be the largest independent supply chain management company in Hong Kong. Allan will remain an individual shareholder of Li & Fung Limited.

Allan is also the founder of the Lan Kwai Fong Group. Through the Lan Kwai Fong Group, Allan developed Hong Kong's most popular entertainment and tourist destination, Lan Kwai Fong. Allan is the Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Holdings Limited, the major property and developer in Lan Kwai Fong. He is also the Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Concepts Holdings Ltd which owns a number of restaurants in Lan Kwai Fong including California, California Coffee, China Lan Kwai Fong, Indochine, Tokio Joe, Cafe des Artistes, Tutta Luna, Jazz Club, Thai Lemongrass, BACI, BACI Pizza and Luna Di Notte. The Lan Kwai Fong Group has also recently opened California, BACI and Tokio Joe's restaurants in Shanghai.

Besides the Lan Kwai Fong Group, Allan is the Chairman of Sweetpea Entertainment, Inc., a company involved in the production of movies and television series. Sweetpea recently finalized production of Dungeons & Dragons, a movie which was released in December 2000 in over 1,000 theatres in the United States.

Allan is also the Chairman of Mesco Shipyard Limited, a company involved in shipbuilding and DKA Ltd, a public relations company. He is also a director of the Algo Group, a large publicly traded fashion conglomerate in Canada and the United States.

Currently, Allan is the Director of Investor Relations for the renowned Wynn Resort Inc.  

 Government Appointments:

In addition to his many business interests, Allan contributes much of his time to public service in Hong Kong. Allan has been appointed by the Hong Kong government as a member of the Tourism Strategy Group (TSG) for the Hong Kong  Tourism Commission, the International Events Fund (IEF) Steering Committee for the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Cultural and Heritage Commission (CHC) and the U.R.A. (Urban Renewal Authority). Also he is appointed as a member of the Services Promotion Strategy Group (SPSG) chaired by the Financial Secretary. Allan is also on the Board of HK Arts Festival and HK Community Chest.

The Chief Executive has appointed Allan as a JP (Justice of the Peace) on 1st July, 2001.

Allan is a long-standing member of the Board of Governors of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
